What is your process for ranking a website?

A great question, and one I’m happy you asked.

A SEO audit needs to perform:

  1. Technical analysis
  2. On-Page analysis
  3. Off-Page analysis
  4. Competitive analysis and keyword research

First off when we audit your website we will perform a site crawl to identify any issues.

page titles – Title tags are a major factor in helping search engines understand what your page is about, they also determine the first impression visitors have of your page.

meta descriptions – Good meta descriptions give your site an advantage in search engine results pages (SERPs), providing more click-throughs

canonical URLs – Canonical tags were created to fix duplicate content issues. In a nutshell, if you have 3 duplicate pages (or at least very similar ones) you can choose just one of them to be shown in SERPs; this way, you can help search engines easily decide what page to show in the search engine results.

images and videos – check the Alt-text or Alt-tags The search engines cannot see the pictures but can read the alt-attribute.

DNS settings – by checking DNS settings we can make sure that bots aren’t finding any errors when they crawl your site.

pages are mobile-friendly – Optimize images. Large images can slow down a site, Minify code, Leverage browser caching, Reduce redirects.

Check site speed –  Users have come to expect websites to load fast, and so does Google. Making sure your site loads fast is essential to ranking

https:// URL rather than an http:// URL as it is more secure.

Local SEO Works

Let’s say Bill, a regular guy with a 9-to-5 job, is in need of an electrician. Do you think he’s going to stroll around his neighbourhood after a hectic day at work looking for one? Definitely not in this day and age! He is going to pick up his smartphone and search online for electricians in his area via a search engine (Google, Baidu, Bing, or Yahoo). According to Search Engine Journal, 93% of online experiences begin with a search engine and 47% of people click on one of the first three listings. Another researcher says that 92% of these online searchers will pick businesses listed on the first page of local search results. These statistics don’t lie. In his search for electricians, Bill would very likely not go past the first page of his search results on Google.
